Andrew Sparrow
Managing Director of SMC Ltd, has a BSc in Chemical Engineering and an MBA and over 20 years experience working in the Refining, Petrochemical, Oilfield Production and Industrial Water Treatment Markets. Before setting up his consultancy in 2001 he worked for 16 years promoting the sale of speciality treatment programmes for Baker Petrolite to these industries in Europe. 10 years of this experience was as a successful manager, firstly as UK and then European Manager.
Since starting a consultancy he has undertaken projects for a number clients including: speciality product and service providers, instrument monitoring equipment and precision pump suppliers and safety equipment specialists.
Liam O'Connell
Director of CK Associates. CK Associates were the first specialist scientific recruitment company in the UK. The company was founded in Sheffield in 1991 by Ashley Kirk and Liam O'Connell. The company specialised from the beginning in the recruitment of scientific and engineering staff for the chemical and environmental sectors and has since expanded into the pharmaceutical and biotechnology fields. Originally dealing mainly with permanent positions, the company is now also established as a provider of temporary and contract staff and has recently increased its profile in the area of client-paid advertising and psychometric testing.
